home sweet home

Hey there,

Well, I am dilligent as ever. Recently, there were some birthday parties at the Lambano homes, so I thought I would take the opportunity to take some pictures and some video. Here are some of the pics I took. These kids are hilarious, and wonderful. I want to spend more time with them. They light up when they see you, and don't let go. The Lambano homes provide a sanctuary for these kids, all of whom are HIV positive and abandoned by their family. Some of them were also mistreated and have trouble adjusting. I haven't had to administer a "hiding" (spanking) yet, but I've heard stories about the mischief some of them are up to. All the same, they are full of life, and easy to love.

Thapelo. "Topee" to his friends. He is very polite.

Sia. He's a handful. When his family found out he was HIV positive, they locked him in a cupboard before sending him to Lambano.

Kabelo. He jsut turned 5, and he loves motorcycles.

Junior. He and Kabelo are best friends. Junior is the funniest kid at Lambano

Noma. She apparently got into the icecream at the party.

Keisha. She is also a troublemaker, but here she looks very sweet.
She has the most beautiful little eyes.

Sammy. He can't talk very well, but he loves to be held, he and his brother, Tim, love cars.

These are just some of the kids who God has brought to Lambano. It's a great ministry, and it's a joy in my life to spend time with them.
They all call me a variation of "Uncle Matt", "Uncle Mack" or "Pick me up, Uncle, I want to go up high", sometimes Sammy calls me "Auntie Matt" when he gets confused.
It's especially wonderful because, being the youngest in my family, I did not grow up with little kids around the house.

Anyways, cheers.

In 1 week, I will publish my first monthly update for february and march, so those of you on the mailing list, watch out, and those who aren't, please join by emailing me with either your e-mail contact, or snail mail address.

Here's me and Kabelo. They call him K.B. for short.
